Surveillance of Australian Workplace Based Respiratory Events

The SABRE Project in New South Wales

Information on this page is preliminary and will be updated. It has been compiled using current medical literature and should not be taken as the position of the Dust Diseases Board.

Summaries have been provided for the various diseases that have been reported to the SABRE project and they are divided into three categories:

  1. Non-malignant pleural disease - due to asbestos exposure

  2. Malignant lung disease - due to asbestos exposure

  3. Other respiratory diseases - e.g. silicosis
